Following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ihazpaws has completed an independent operational assessment of the tournament, including seven matches held in nearby Vancouver. The findings raise significant concerns regarding equipment allocation, asset retention, workforce welfare and sanitation infrastructure.
Equipment Allocation and Strategic Vision. ihazpaws notes with disappointment that FIFA explicitly prohibited laser pointers at tournament venues, citing what the company understands to be concerns regarding participant safety. Laser-based motivation has been central to ihazpaws operations since its founding in 2019. The laser dot serves as the company's North Star metric, providing sustained employee engagement, continuous physical activity and an objective of enduring strategic importance. The laser dot has not been caught. The vision has not been revised.
Given FIFA's rejection of this proven motivational technology, its decision to provide only one ball for 22 players is particularly difficult to justify. ihazpaws recommends issuing one ball per participant. This would eliminate unnecessary competition for shared resources and allow personnel to pursue individual objectives without interference.
Asset Retention. The assessment identified repeated instances of participants acquiring possession of the ball and subsequently surrendering it to other parties, sometimes voluntarily and, in numerous cases, under apparent duress. Particularly concerning were incidents in which participants deliberately transferred the asset to direct competitors. Others propelled it beyond the boundaries of the facility, requiring additional personnel to retrieve it.
ihazpaws considers these practices incompatible with elementary principles of asset stewardship. Once acquired, an asset should be retained, preferably beneath the employee responsible for acquiring it.
Workforce Welfare. ihazpaws welcomes FIFA's introduction of mandatory hydration breaks, despite the considerable public dissatisfaction these measures generated. The company finds the objections difficult to reconcile with established principles of workforce sustainability. Nevertheless, the three-minute allowance falls significantly short of accepted feline occupational standards.
ihazpaws recommends two mandatory 45-minute naps per match, supplemented by hydration as required. Personnel expressing dissatisfaction with the revised schedule will be referred to our satisfaction remediation pipeline. Resolution rates, as usual, will not be published. They are, however, excellent.
Infrastructure and Sanitation. Considerable resources were invested in preparing and maintaining grass surfaces across multiple tournament venues. Despite this expenditure, no corresponding investment in litter box infrastructure was identified. The omission raises serious questions about facilities planning and the adequacy of basic sanitation provisions. ihazpaws recommends a formal review of stadium infrastructure priorities.
Security. ihazpaws acknowledges the apparent success of canine exclusion measures. Following the unauthorised canine perimeter breach documented in Official Statement 007 during the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, the company welcomes evidence that lessons may have been learned. The absence of dogs on the playing field represents a meaningful improvement in international sporting event security. Continued vigilance is advised.
Regional Consultation and Resource Allocation. Despite operating from Victoria, BC, within the same province as the Vancouver host venue, ihazpaws was not consulted on equipment procurement, facilities planning or workforce welfare. The company also found no evidence that tournament organisers evaluated the potential benefits of redirecting even a portion of the event's substantial resources toward expansion of the global tuna reserve. The omission is difficult to reconcile with the scale of the undertaking.
The findings have been forwarded to the relevant authorities through established inter-organisational advisory channels. No acknowledgement or response is required. ihazpaws considers the submission a routine discharge of its responsibilities as a regional enterprise stakeholder.
